Dr. Claud Evans

Since 1956. Less than 200 individuals of more than 3,000 of the Oklahoma State University Alumni Association have been inducted in their elite Hall of Fame. On Thursday, February 7 th , Dr. Claud Evans of Okemah/Clearview became one of three inductees of the 2020 OSU Hall of Fame Association. Dr. Claud D. Evans graduated from OSU in 1966 with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural biochemistry. He went on to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tuskegee Institute Alabama in 1970 and interned at the University of California-Davis.

Congratulations to Dr. Donnie Nero Sr.

Dr. Donnie Nero will receive the East Central University Black Alumni Association 2020 Trailblazer Award during the Black History Month Program “Unifying the Past, While Empowering the Future” at the ECU Hallie Brown Ford Fine Arts Center on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. Dr. Cheryl Brown Henderson, CEO, Brown Education Foundation. Dr. Henderson is one of the three daughters of the late Rev. Oliver L. Brown who in the fall of 1950 along with 12 other parents, led by attorneys for the NAACP, filed suit on behalf of their children against the local Board of Education. Their case joined with cases from Delaware, South Carolina, Virginia and Washington, D.C. on appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court and on May 17, 1954, became known as the landmark decision; Brown v. the Board of Education of Topeka, Kansas. This case was legally named for Oliver Brown, i.e., Oliver L. Brown et. al. vs. the Board of Education of Topeka, KS et. al. Brown died in 1961 before knowing the impact this case would have on the nation

Clearview News: Clearview survived the capture of a murder suspect last week. The suspect was captured in a home in Clearview under the hands of an alert citizen who held him captive until law enforcements were to arrive and arrest him. The town is grateful that no others were hurt during this episode. Please continue to pray for the town and citizens that we live in peace.
