November is Native American Heritage Month

We observe NativeAmerican Heritage Month in November to recognize the achievements and contributions of Native Americans. In 1990 President George H. W. Bush approved a joint resolution designating November 1990 "National American Indian Heritage Month." Similar proclamations, under variants on the name (including “Native American Heritage Month” and “National American Indian and Alaska Native Heritage Month”) have been issued each year since 1994.

Clearview OHCE Brown Suggas Meet

The Okfuskee Clearview OHCE Brown Suggas Club met on November 18th for their monthly meeting at the Clearview Main Street Community Building. President Shirley Nero decorated the room in a fall theme and provided gift bags for each person in attendance. Members Joyce Barrett and Deborah Spearman provided the main meal of fried chicken and baked potatoes while other members provided homemade rolls, corn, baked beans, and a variety of desserts and drinks.
