May we always remember the long 17 days we just endured. It may not have been as entertaining as the winter of ’48 but so far it sure has my attention. It has been a time of something just getting worse. And yes it could have been worse. For many others it was. For me it started out on the 5 . I took Pat to the doctor up in Tulsa that day. It was rainy and cold and when we arrived it was slick, icy and 23 degrees F. But we made it home okay only to watch our weather just grow colder and colder.

Clearview News: Happy birthday Billy Walker on February 25 . Donnie and Shirley Nero, Marilyn Jackson, and Alpheus Grundy made an outing over to Muskogee for dinner and shopping at the Amish store. It was a pleasant, sunny day after being in a frozen state with no water for the pass week. Thanks for those in the water district for working diligently trying to provide water service to their customer. Hopefully, there were not many leaks, and everyone is back online for water. Betty Hanner writes that we all like to complain about the cold weather — while we are snuggled in woolen socks, fleece-lined boots, thermal underwear, down-filled coats and whatever else we need to brave the cold outdoors. Then we come into centrally heated homes, soak in hot tubs of water, crawl into beds warmed by electric blankets, wake up to automatically brewed hot coffee, and go to work in heated cars — and still we say we are cold.
