The Wetumka JOM hosted its third annual Native Cultural Fashion show in celebration of Native American Month. The event was held on November 20th in the Wetumka School Auditorium. There were nineteen participants, from ages Pre-K to high school. There were several princesses in attendance: Muscogee- Creek Nation Princesses: Junior Miss, Mia Powell, and Aholcvce Deer, Seminole Nation Princess Little Miss, Gia Burgess, and Jr. Miss Taya Jones, Miss Indian Oklahoma Bikers Princess, Genesis Talamasey. Gia Burgess blessed the audience with a beautiful Muscogee hymn. The MC was Selena Dornan.

Those that actually went through “hard times” never complained about them. Many of our parents and grandparents grew up in a Depression, served in a World War, and had to learn how to survive on a daily basis.

WEELETKA — The Weleetka Outlaws are headed to the State Championship after powering past Okeene 52–28 on Friday night in a semifinal showdown filled with explosive plays, bruising runs, and a relentless defensive front. Weleetka will now face Seiling this Thursday at noon for the Class B State Title.
