Our sympathy is extended to the family of Shirley Fogler

Shirley Gene Fogler, lovingly known as “Mema,” passed away peacefully on December 21, 2025, at the age of 90. She was the heart of her family and a guiding light to all who knew her.

Born on September 20, 1935, in Stuart, Oklahoma, Shirley was the beloved daughter of Carl “Buster” Hester and Illa Hester. From an early age, she lived a life rooted in faith, love and service to other. Shirley loved deeply and always put God first. She devoted her life to teaching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren the importance of faith, kindness, and unconditional love. Her home was filled with warmth, prayer, laughter, and open arms, and her presence brought comfort to everyone around her.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Carl “Buster” and Illa Hester; her brothers, Buddy and Dan Hester; her sister, Susie; her beloved husband, Clancy Fogler; and her son, Joe Ashford. She is survived by her loving family; daughter Norma Goodwin, grandchildren; Nicholas Samsel and wife Jammie, Tricia McClarty and husband Joseph, Russell Goodwin and wife Crystal, Kelli Goodwin, Paige Goodwin, great grandchildren; Julian Samsel, Carson McClarty, Audrey McClarty, Addison McClarty,

Traise Goodwin, Laila Goodwin, Skylynn Goodwin, and Ryker Goodwin. Shirley is survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Her legacy will live on through the generations she nurtured, the values she instilled, and the countless lives she touched through her faith and love. While we grieve her passing, we rejoice knowing she is at peace and in the presence of loved ones who went before her and the Lord, whoguidedthembythepromiseofScripture: “TheLordwillwatchover your coming and going both now and forevermore.” ~Psalm 121:8. Pallbearers are Benny Hester, H.D. Hester, Nick Samsel, Russell Goodwin, Kelli Goodwin and Ryker Goodwin.

Viewing was held 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 26, 2025, at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Holdenville with Pastor Claude Sumner officiating.

Interment followed at Non Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville, Oklahoma.
