Service today for Rainey Micco Marks

Rainey Micco Marks was born December 2, 1951 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Hempsey and Mattie (Looney) Micco and passed from this life June 19, 2022 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa at the age of 70.

Rainey was raised in Weleetka and attended Weleetka Public School. She was a graduate of Weleetka High School. As a young lady she dedicated her life to caring for others in longterm care by becoming a Certified Nurse Aid and Certified Medication Aid. She was employed n Weleetka by the Adkins Nursing Home and Rainbow Terrace and by Heritage Nursing Home in Holdenville.

Rainey enjoyed watching Championship Wrestling and Family Feud on television but mostly treasured family gatherings, especially if her grandchildren were involved.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Dempsey, James, Frisco, Johnny, and Tommy, two sisters Alice and Ann, and by a son Leland.

Survivors include: four children, Matilda (Fatty) Micco, Jempsey Micco, and Sherman Micco, all of Weleetka, and Aaron Micco of Norfolk, Virginia; 2 sisters, Sarah Micco of Weleetka and Nell English of Okmulgee; 3 cousins who were like siblings to her, Beverly Snow of Henryetta and Charles and Barton Looney of Dustin; 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Viewing and visitation will be at her home in Weleetka beginning at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday. The funeral service will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Hutchechappa Baptist Church with Rev. Scotty Harjo and Bro. Hugh Foley officiating. Pallbearers will be Woody Micco, Peanut, Rodney

Scott, Michael Manley, William Bencoma, and David Bencoma. Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will be in the Birdcreek Cemetery under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home of Weleetka and Wetumka.
