According to Wetumka’s new Fire Chief, Cody Wright, the Weleetka Fire Department was initially re- sponding to a grass fire when the structure fire broke out.

Her cousins once visited when her parents were alive and lived in Clearview and Okemah. They came back to relive old memories. While here, they toured the old home place and toured the new spots in Clearview such as the Oklahoma African American Educators Hall of Fame and the Welcome Center. Cousins from left to right: Patricial Brunson, Corranzo and LaTonya Lewis (Kansas City, Kansas) and Carroll Morris (San Jose, California). Corranzo is married into the family.

Chair Joanna Hibbler, retired president of Southwestern U n i v e r s i t y , invited the former governors to attend and participate in a panel discussion to their successes and challenges during their terms in offices. Former Chancellor of Higher Education Glen Johnson served as the moderator.

If you are traveling east on I-40 between Okemah and Clearview exits, you can spot Jackson on a giant bill representing the healthy communities. She has been instrumental in bringing the Mobile Wellness Unit to Clearview, in fact, she has scheduled another visit to Clearview on November 6th from 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Please plain to visit the mobile van.
