Donavin Evans State Power Lifting Champ

Donavin Evans, 8 th grade student at Okemah Middle School, recently won the State Powerlifting competition in Miami in the lightweight squat and lightweight bench events. In addition to winning the championship, he was selected as MVP of the 8 th grade competition. Before going to the state competition, Donavin earned second place in the 132# division at the Allen Mustang Invitational and first place at the Checotah and Chandler meets. He is the son of proud parents Kelli & Leon Neal and grandson of proud grandparents Elayne and Claud Evans.

Stuart Hornets Are Headed to The Big House!

The Stuart Hornets are aiming high, a State Basketball Championship could be on the horizon. After a tough loss to Kiowa in the Regional tournament at Checotah, the #10 Hornets won the con-solation bracket to qualify for State. Capped off by upsets of ranked teams Glencoe and Davenport, the Hornets stunned #2 ranked Calumet Saturday night in Okmulgee to advance to The Big House.
