Stephanie Gail Pigeon-Brown was born June 23, 1963 in Weleetka, Oklahoma to Jessie Pigeon and Mary Jean Hicks. Her grandparents were Charlie Mike, Lily Tiger Hicks, along with Joseph and Jenette Green Pigeon. Stephanie graduated from Weleetka High School in May 1981. Then she attended Connor State College in Warner, Oklahoma and Sapulpa votech with a certificate in medical assistance, then she started working for Creek Nation Health Symposium in November 1988. She kept working until September 2010 in medical records.

From left - Coach Devon Reid, Wesley Hamilton - 6th place, Hayden Hobia, Jackson Reid - 4th place, Alex Allford - 6th place, Mason Allford - 7th place. Briar Bray also placed 4th in the 7th grade division. The team says they will be back next year for the gold!! Congratulations!
Read moreThe Hughes County OHCE Atwood Club was awarded the traveling trophy at this year’s district OHCE meeting for traveling with the biggest percentage of members the farthest distance. This year’s meeting was held at the Atoka Convention Center. At the meeting members learned about all sorts of projects from Sewing, nutrition and even Gardening. They will bring this new knowledge back to the county and put it to use with local projects throughout the year. We even got to listen to Pake McEntire for our lunch entertainment. The district meeting is always a great way for us to find new proj-ects and bring them back to our communities.
