Calvin Bond Issue Explained

Calvin Schools is proposing a $1.8 million bond proposition to the voters on October 12 2021 to construct a school cafeteria. The new cafeteria will be built in the existing location of the current Cafeteria. The current cafeteria was built in 1971 and through the growth of the district and services now offered by the school, the space is very limited and equipment is outdated. The goal of the proposition is to give Calvin Schools an adequate space to serve the students of the district as well as a facility that can better serve the needs of the community. The financial impact to the district will be an increase of $1.80 a year ($0.15 a month) per $100 paid in property tax.

Many years ago, Dayna and I would enjoy going out for supper and then going to a movie. After a few years we just went out for supper because we didn’t want to stay up late enough to see a movie. A few more years and it changed to dinner, usually after church because we didn’t want to stay out when it started getting dark.
