Read moreMembers of the Okfuskee County OHCE clubs met on Tuesday, December 12th for their Winter Meeting. After the business meeting, Jan Maples, the County Educator recognized outgoing president Henrietta Hicks and secretary Shirley Nero. Both served two terms totaling four years served each. Maples presented them with engraved OHCE cutting boards. After the presentation, Maples installed in the incoming officers (left to right in photo) secretary Rita Cooksey, President Sherri Largent, Vice-President Diane Laos, and Secretary Marilyn Jackson.
Read moreDonnie Nero Jr. surprised his mother Shirley Nero with arranging a fly-over of Tulsa and surrounding areas to view Christmas lights for her 74th birthday. Pilot Seth Phillips, co-worker of Donnie Jr., flew Nero on a 45-minute flight over downtown Tulsa, Rhema Bible College, Broken Arrow, Paragon Industries, Sapulpa downtown shoot, and Glenpool for her first-time flight in a small plane. Nero said she was so excited to fly, the weather was perfect, and the sky was clear, and it could not have been any better to see the Christmas lights from above. She went on to say that Seth made her feel amazingly comfortable at flying.
