Turner Dunna Scott

Turner Dunna Scott was born November 25, 1933, in Yeager, Oklahoma to James Scott and Lena Holuby Scott and passed from this life on November 11, 2023, in Ada at the age of 89.

As a young man he married Geraldine Scoffer of Blackwater, Arizona in 1951 and to this union five children were born. They lived for many years in Oklahoma City where he worked as a carpenter. Following retirement, he brought his family back to his home area in Hughes County and settled in Wetumka.

He and Geraldine enjoyed retirement together. They loved to travel and spend time with family.

He was a member of the Alabama Quassarte Ceremonial Ground as speaker and also attended Pecan Grove Church.

He was the last surviving child of ten siblings. He was also preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son Melvin Scott, and a granddaughter Jennifer Anderson. He is remembered as one who had great love and respect for all his family.

Survivors include: four daughters, Marilyn Koshiway and Leona Jones and husband Batitise, all of Moore, Rosezella and husband Mike of Wetumka, and Sandra Rains and husband Robbie of Oklahoma City; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Visitation for Turner Scott was held Monday, November 13, 2023, from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in the Spradlin Memory Chapel at Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home in Wetumka. Turner was taken to Tokvbvche Methodist Church near Holdenville at 4:00pm on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, and wake services were held that night. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, November 15, 2023, atTokvbvche Methodist Church near Holdenville at 1:00 P.M. Interment followed at Yeager Cemetery under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home of Wetumka.
