Service Saturday for James “Bo” Sexton

James “Bo” Melvin Sexton long time Holden-ville resident passed away Friday, May 17, 2019, in Keller, Texas at the age of 93.  

Bo was born January 10, 1926 in H o l d e n - ville, Oklahoma to Jerd Sexton and Edith Taylor.  He graduated from Holdenville High School.  Bo married Mildred Womac on March 1, 1947 in Holdenville.  He was Vice President of First National Bank in Holdenville, Oklahoma.  Bo was an Army/Air Corps 368th Bombardment Squadron and 306th Bombardment Group veteran.  He served on the Holdenville City Council, Hughes County Conservation Board Member, Holdenville School Board and was a founding Deacon of the Faith Freewill Baptist Church.  He was owner of Bo’s Antiques and Antique Gas Pump Restorations.  He enjoyed antiquing, gardening and coin collecting.  

Bo is preceded in death by his parents; sisters Agnes Baxter, Alene Stuckey and Wynema Lee.  

He is survived by his wife Mildred; son Stephen James Sexton, daughter Rhonda Calene Whaley and son Timothy Don Sexton; grandchildren Michelle and Danny Sexton, Chris and Julie Whaley, Craig and Amy Whaley, Kelsey M. Sexton, and Jacob and Kelsey A. Sexton; five great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be 10:00 AM Saturday, May 25th , at the Faith Freewill Baptist Church in Holden-ville.  

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, May 25th , also at the Faith Freewill Baptist Church, with Pastor Earl Scroggins officiating. Interment will follow at Holdenville Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Chris Whaley, Craig Whaley, Barry Whaley, Jacob Sexton, Leroy Dority and J.C. Kanard.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Holdenville, Oklahoma.
