Service Monday for Carolyn Jean McDaniel

Carolyn Jean McDaniel, a longtime resident of the Holdenville and Seminole areas, passed away in Frisco, Texas on January 13th, 2026.

Carolyn was a 1960 graduate of Holdenville High School and attended Oklahoma City University. She had a forty-year career in health care, beginning as a medical transcriptionist at Holdenville General Hospital. Her career culminated in serving as the Administrator of Wetumka General Hospital for several years. Access to rural health care was her passion, and she worked many years in its pursuit.

She shared a special bond with her sister, Linda Hampton, of Seminole, OK, her nephews, nieces, and their families. She cherished her family and being a Nana most of all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Mc- Daniel, and her parents, John and Winona Brown.

Carolyn was a longtime active member of the United Methodist Churches in Holdenville and Seminole, serving as a Sunday school teacher, a member of women’s groups, and on various committees.

Carolyn will be well remembered for her kindness and concern for others. She loved searching for the perfect antiques to add to her collection, particularly anything beach-related. She was blessed by her lifelong friendships.
