Service held for Robert Wayne “Bob” McCord

Robert Wayne ‘Bob’ McCord passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at the age of 65 years.

Bob was the son of Robert & Betty Lou (Cassill) Mc-Cord, born on July 17, 1953, in Oklahoma City, O k l a h o - ma, where he was brought up and graduated high school. For many years, he owned and operated his own service station, McCord’s Texaco in Oklahoma City before moving to Lamar in 1992.

He married JoAnn Tackett in Oklahoma City on December 18, 1993. They made their home in Lamar, where Bob owned and operated McCord’s Garage for ten years. He was currently working for Robinson Off Road Auto Sales in Holdenville.

Bob’s favorite things were watching movies, especially cheesy comedies, and riding motorcycles. What he loved most was fishing with his grandsons, and family gatherings with all the kids and grandkids together.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert McCord; two sisters, Susie and Pamela; granddaughter Angel; stepson Gary Vaughn.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, JoAnn, of the home; five children: Kim Boyd and Amy Stephens, both of Lamar, Amy Lyn Seay of Edmond, Diedra Cates of Wetumka, and Travis McCord of Eufaula; ten grandchildren: Tabitha, Harley, Madilyn, Laura, Morgan, Michael, Collin, Reilly, Robert, and Kotah; one great grandchild, Kayden; his mother, Betty Lou Cassill; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Fisher Funeral Home’s Lillye Chapel, with Rev. Lonnie Hoelscher officiating.
