Service Held for Ramona Sue Babb

Ramona Sue Babb passed away at her son’s home in Holdenville, Oklahoma on Monday, March 11, 2024, at the age of 78 years.

Sue is the daughter of Thomas & Ruby (Morris) Chancellor, born on August 15, 1945, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, where she was brought up and attended schools. She graduated Holdenville High School with the Class of 1963. She was married in Holdenville shortly after graduation on May 25, 1963 to Jackie G. Babb and the two of them made Holdenville their lifelong home. Sue worked for many years as a seamstress for Seampruf in Holdenville and also for Big Yank and Custom Size in Wewoka. She later worked for several years, along with her daughter, Tracy, as a CNA for Oak Ridge Home in Wewoka. The work she really enjoyed was helping Jack in his mechanic business, as the “gopher” and also as a pretty good mechanic. Mechanic work was one of her favorite things along with fishing and baling hay, and in later years she and Jack took up golfing. Her family was the joy of her life and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas & Ruby Chancellor; her husband of 51 years, Jackie Babb; one brother, Tommy Gene Chancellor; infant granddaughter Misty Dawn Babb, and infant sister Rebecca Chancellor.

She is survived by two children: daughter Tracy Reed (Terry) and son Bo Babb (Rhonda), all of Holdenville; five grandchildren: Tiffany Cook (Jeff) of Wewoka, Bo Babb (Ashley) of Norman, Jackie Babb of Norman, Cale babb of Holdenville, and Boady Marshall of Virginia; six great grandchildren: Savanah, Jaxton, Kennedy, Chase, Jaxley, and Madison; two brothers, Terry Chancellor of Healdton and Jackie Chancellor of Wewoka; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, many friends, and her best fur friend, her silky terrier, Sadie.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 13, 11:00am at Holdenville Cemetery Chapel, with Rev. Tommy Azlin officiating. Pallbearers were Mike Ott, Johnny Babb Jr, Terry Reed, Bo Babb Jr, Billy Weaver, Brian Jackson, and Jeff Cook.
