Service held for Malinda Kay Summers

Malinda “Mindy” Kay Summers was born December 13, 1967 to Jon Winn and Sandra (Mayes) Winn in Seminole, Oklahoma. She passed from this life on March 12, 2019 at her home in Weleetka, Oklahoma.

Mindy attended school in Weleetka, where she graduated from high school. As a student, she played basketball and sang in the choir. After graduating, she went on to study at UCLA, pursuing an education in nursing. She spent many of her working years as a Certified Nursing Assistant, but also worked dispatch for the Okfuskee County Sheriff’s office and even bartended in Henryetta. Mindy loved people, and never knew a stranger.

Mindy is preceded in death by her grandparents, and by aunts and uncles. She is survived by her husband, Derrall Summers; by her parents; by her siblings, Gerry Winn, Brenda Davis, and Jonathan Winn; by her children, Timothy Rowland and Thomas Rowland; by two step-sons, Jonathan Summers and Robert Summers; by her grandchildren, Athena, Alexander, Brae’Lynn, Ares, Brinleigh, and Maverick; by a very large adopted family; and by many other relatives and friends.

Graveside funeral services for Malinda “Mindy” Kay Summers were held Friday, March 15, 2019 at 2:00pm a Hillcrest Cemetery of Weleetka, Oklahoma, in the new annex. John Roberts officiated. Cody Wright, Kyle Young, James Yandell, Shawn Brownlee, Theran Richards, and Jimmy Baker served as pallbearers.
