Service held for Ima Christine Guthrie

Ima Christine Guthrie of Ceres, California was born September 1, 1930 and went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on February 12, 2019. She was buried next to her father and sister, Alamo, on March 1st .

She was born to Jesse Charles (JC) and Vera White in Holdenville. She had four siblings, Wilson, Anita, Eugene and Alamo. Most of her youth was spent living in Oklahoma, New Mexico and Texas before they moved to Coffee’s Ranch in Modesto, California.

She married Orville Ray Polk on August 6, 29150 and they had a little girl named Charlotte Kay. Ray died while serving in the U.S. Navy on February 12, 1953.

She then met and fell in love with Woodrow (Woody) Guthrie. They lived many years in Long Beach, California before his passing. Woody was a Korean war veteran.

Survivors include four nieces and nephews, Eugene and Charlene of Modesto, California, Brenda of Ada, and Jesse of San Diego.
