Service held for David “L.D.” Cross

David “L.D.” Cross passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019, at his home in Holdenville, Oklahoma at the age of 83.L.D. was born March 12, 1936in Yukon, Oklahoma to Ancel Virgil Cross and Estil Anderson. L.D. attended Spaulding Public Schools. Hemarried T.Cairol Dodson on May21, 1960 in Holdenville. L.D. was a Navy veteran. He worked in the pipeline industry. L.D. enjoyed teaching guitar, playing music, fishing and was very artistic. He loved his family especially his grandchildren. L.D. is preceded in death by hisparents, his wife T. Cairol Cross of 43 years, two great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Justin Netzel. He is survived by his best friend and loving companion of 12 years Nellie Baldwin; son David Cross,Jr., of Holdenville; daughters Cairol Walton and husband Mike of Holdenville, and Mary Merriman of Holdenville; grandchildren Jennifer Merriman, Gary Lee Merriman, Jeffrey Cowell, Brandy Wiseman, Kagen Cross, Phillip Netzel, Shaina Netzel, Hannah Couffer, Danny Merriman, Jr., Chasisty Merriman, and Jordan Merriman; 19 great grandchildren;1 great-great-grandson; sisters Irene Cooper of Akron, Ohio, Christine Summerton of Holdenville, Kathryn Sossoman of Holdenville, Lois Madronof Wewoka, Ruth Cullum of Holdenville, and Donna Robinson of Holdenville; brothers Edsil Cross of Holdenville, Lloyd Cross and wife Judy of Holdenville,and numerous other family and friends. Funeral service was 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 22nd, at Hudson-Phillips Funeral HomeChapel in Holdenville with Kay Ethridge speaking. Interment followed at Glory / Bilby Cemetery. Pallbearers are Mike Cross, Ron Wiseman, Stan Factor, Eric Hernandez, Jeremy Lucas and Gary Merriman. Honorary pallbearers are David Cross, Gary Merriman, Jr., Jeff Cowell, Phillip Netzel, Kagen Cross, Jordan Merriman and Danny Merriman, Jr. Services were under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Holdenville, Oklahoma.
