Service held for Cecil Claud Hood

Cecil Claud Hood, age 78, passed away May 13, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was a resident of Wewoka, Oklahoma. He was born May 17, 1941 in Atwood, Oklahoma. He grew up in Atwood, Gerty and Allen, Oklahoma. He served his country in the United States Army.

Cecil worked as a diesel mechanic at Haliburton for many years. He also worked at the Corps of Engineers in Fort Gibson and Arizona. He was a sheriff in Gerty, Oklahoma. He was a deacon at Gleaners Holiness Church in Wewoka. He loved Patsy Hood very much. He loved music and Loretta Lynn was one of his favorites. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, Seminole High School Football and OU Football. He was married to Joan Wall and three children were born to that union. He loved his family very much and he loved Jesus, his Lord and Savior.

Cecil loved Seminole Schools and Chieftain Football. All the coaches were his friends, especially Mike Snyder.

Cecil is survived by his son; James Hood of Seminole, Oklahoma, his daughters; Robin Eakins of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Marlyn Anthony of Holdenville, Oklahoma, grandchildren; Bonnie Leann Moore, Pamela Chavira, Gloria Graham, D.J. Anthony and Hermilo Olbera and five great grandchildren; Zach, Oaklynn and Elian. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; J.D. and Doyle and sister; La-June and daughter; Tina Marie Graham.

Memorial services for Cecil were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Gleaners Holiness Church, 14th and Bluffview, Wewoka, Oklahoma 74884. Burial will followed at Little Cemetery. Larry Chesser fficiated the services. Honorary bearers were the Seminole High School coaches.

Arrangements were under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
