Larry Leon Weger
Larry Leon Weger passed away Sunday, July 23, 2023 in Hot Springs, Arkansas at the age of 72.
Larry was born July 11, 1951 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Ishmael Weger and Florene (Carter) Weger. Larry attended Holdenville Public Schools. Larry married Margot Schweinle o June 16, 1984 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma. He worked in the oilfield most his life except for nine years spent in hog farming in Mena, Arkansas. Larry was a Rig Manager for Legacy Drilling Company. He enjoyed watching westerns, driving tractors, and working on the farm. Larry loved playing with his grandchildren, and spending time with Margot on the boat at the lake.
Larry is preceded in death by his father Ishmael; brothers Danny Weger, Michael Weger and sister Cathy Sipes.
He is survived by his wife Margot of the home; mother Florene Weger of Holdenville; children Stephanie Gilbert and husband Tony of Wewoka, Danielle Weger of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Chase Weger and wife Tara of Lamar, and Zach Weger of Holdenville; eight grandchildren Whitney Crawford, Timothy Gilbert, Mackenzie Gilbert, Langston Weger, Gracie Weger, Kennedy Weger, Jacob Carpenter, and Jaxon Carpenter; six great- grandchildren; siblings Sharon Bryant of Seminole, Janie Pierce and husband Eric of Allen, and Pamela Calvert of Wewoka. Larry is survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be 1:00pm-7:00pm, Thursday, July 27th, and 9:00am-7:00pm, Friday, July 28th, at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
Family will gather at Yeager Community Center at noon for lunch Saturday, July 29th.
Funeral service will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, July 29th , at the First Baptist Church in Holdenville with Pastor Darrell Brown officiating.
Pallbearers are Chris Smith, Craig Smith, Jimmy Sipes, Danny Sipes, Jesse Weger, Jason Weger, Colton Harjo and D’Wayn Grinder. Honorary pallbearers are Roger Crawford, Darran Johnson, Ray Dier Sr., Gene Dawson, Chad Schweinle, James Houghton, Luther Williams and Eric Pierce.
Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville, Oklahoma.
