Corky Crittenden

Wayne Lee ‘Corky’ Crittenden was born December 9, 1941, in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Floye Crittenden and Geneva (Dodd) Crittenden. He left this life on June 1, 2025, in Wewoka, Oklahoma at the age of 83.
Corky was raised in Wewoka along with his two brothers, Mickey and Darrell, and attended Wewoka Public Schools He married Marlene (Leewright) Lee on September 2, 1973, and with this union he became a father to Dana Lee Cook. He was also a proud grandfather to his two grandsons and six great grandchildren.
His birth name may have been Wayne, but very few knew him as anything other than ‘Corky’. His grandpa Louie Dodd was responsible for providing this nickname to him a a very young child and it stuck for life.
Corky served in the Army National Guard from March 1963 to October 1968. He later worked numerous jobs including pipelining with un- cles, working as a fireman, running a liquor store, and various truck driving jobs.
In 1977 he received an offer than changed the course of his life when he was asked by close friend Pete Dinsmore to drive, what was then, the one and only truck for C&C Tank Trucks. Corky worked long and diligently to help make the business successful, and it was. He thought the world of the guys who worked with him at C&C. He retired in 2005 at which time he and Marlene took off in their 5th Wheel, chasing the good weather between South Texas and Colorado.
In true Crittenden fashion, Corky loved traveling and enjoyed nothing better than a good road trip. He also enjoyed watching OU football, rodeos, horse races, camping, spending time with family and reminiscing with friends. Corky loved the Lord and was a member of New Life Church. He was a good and faithful friend to many and was generous with his time and possessions. He was an amazing husband, father, brother, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floye Crittenden, mother Geneva Crittenden, and brother Darrell Crittenden.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene Crittenden, of the home; brother Mickey Crittenden and wife Linda of Edmond, Oklahoma; daughter Dana Cook & husband Greg of Wewoka; grandchildren Jordan & Stephanie Cook of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Austin & Kristi Cook of Seminole, Oklahoma; great grandchildren: Carter Cook, Canaan Cook, Cason Cook, Zane Cook, Everly Cook, and Macrae Cook.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, 11:00am at New Life Church in Wewoka, with Pastor Tom Azlin officiat ing. Honorary pallbearers are Pete Dinsmore, Randy Brown, Tim Williams, Barry Wood, Roy Sisco, Johnny Chastain, Kenneth Johnson, Doug Humphreys, Raymond Cain, Gary Thomas, Randall Richmond, and Ray Baldwin. http://www.fisherfh.net
