This past weekend in Yukon, the Glenpool 4x1 relay track team went home with the state 5-A championship. Jordan Blades, daughter of Tanya and Marvin Blades ran the third leg for the team. They broke the school record which had stood since 2014, beating the old record of 48.71 with a 48.4. What a way to end her high school career. She is headed to East Central University on a track scholarship and will walk-on to play basketball. Her name will be added to the Glenpool wall of fame alongside her brother’s name, who broke a school record back in 2019 as a junior at Glenpool in the 200 and is now running at Pittsburg State University. He is running the same race, the 4x1 relay, who are conference champs and is going to nationals at Pueblo at the end of May. Both are grandchildren of Donnie and Shirley Nero of Clearview.
