A regular meeting of the Wetumka City Council was held on Monday, January 11, 2021. Council members present were June Fixico, Donna Dyer, Josh Howk, and Richard Roush. Sherry Smith, city manager and Norma Marshall, mayor were also present.

Cleaver, of course, later claimed the embarrassing episode was actually “a lighthearted pun” in recognition of women, a description that might draw water on paper, but which the video clearly shows is not the case.

The Vernon community joins those across the state in mourning the loss of a visionary pioneer. Andre Head died following after contracting and battling COVID-19 on November 26, 2020. The Vernon Community recently learned of his tragic death in the December 17 issue of the Black Chronicle. He was 72.
