Christian Simpson and sons Nathan and Jacob of Huntington, California came to Clearview with their friends D. J. and daughter Berlin to learn about the Black towns they had learned of. Nathan, 10 years old and Jacob, 13 years old had visited the Greenwood District in Tulsa earlier and gained information which led them to learn more about Oklahoma’s Black history. Berlin, nine years old, and granddaughter of Donnie and Shirley Nero also learned a great deal of her heritage and deep roots of family in Clearview.

Read moreClearview citizens enjoyed a day of celebrating the 4 of July. Citizens and guests celebrated with a blast of fireworks, food, and games on Saturday before the 4 . Guests came from all parts of the state to visit and witness the grand display of fireworks which lasted throughout the midnight hour. Children played in the streets while adults renewed old acquaintances. It was a fun time to see Clear view come alive once again.
